The Tatacoa Desert in Pictures

Colombia is known, correctly, as a wet country. But it does have two 'deserts': the Guajira Peninsula and Tatacoa Desert, altho the second is technically a dry tropical forest. The Tatacoa, located in northern Huila Department, covers 330 square kilometers and, in addition to wildlife and domestic animals, also contains fossils going back some 20 million years.

It also has beautiful scenery, as shown by these photos on display now in the Claustro de San Agustin in La Candelaria.
